Kailan is being built around a simple principle: your Story exists to create value for you, not to become a product sold to someone else.
These are the principles guiding the product we're building. They are not a claim that every planned control is already available.
Private by design
Kailan may collect and remember information to serve defined purposes you can understand: providing, protecting, improving, and operating the experience. Sensitive information should not be collected or kept simply because it might become useful someday.
You should have a say in what is remembered
We are building toward ways for you to understand meaningful memories and review, correct, update, or forget them, subject to legitimate legal and safety constraints.
An old belief should not become a permanent label. What you said, what Kailan inferred, and what your experience demonstrates are not the same thing.
Your private Story is not for sale
Private conversations, journals, Story records, evidence, relationship data, and sensitive inferred profiles are not to be sold or licensed as a commercial data product.
Your life is not an advertising profile
Your private Story is not to be used to target advertising around your fears, goals, relationships, identity, or vulnerabilities.
Sharing is not automatic permission for AI training
Our default is to exclude private Story content from training AI systems for general use. Any exception would need a separately approved, clearly understood, legally appropriate path consistent with these commitments.
You should be able to leave
Kailan should earn its place in your life by being useful, not by making your history impossible to leave behind. Practical ways to export meaningful parts of your Story and request deletion, where appropriate, are part of that commitment.
You remain the author
Kailan may offer perspective, ask questions, or challenge an interpretation. It can also be wrong. It is not a therapist, a crisis service, or the authority over your life. Human relationships remain part of the story.
